Afro-American Historical Association of Fauquier County

The AAHA is headquarted in The Plains, Virginia and opened to the general public, schools and other organizations interested in local history and tracing their family and community records. AAHA offers a resource center, a museum, a reference library, an auditorium and a genealogical library.

American Bird Concervancy

The ABC has their main office in The Plains, Virginia.  The ABC is a 501(c)(3), not-for profit organization whose mission is to conserve native birds and their habitats throughout the Americas. The ABC envision's an Americas-wide landscape where diverse interests collaborate to ensure that native bird species and their habitats are protected, where their protection is valued by society, and they are routinely considered in all land-use and policy decision-making.

The Plains Community League

The Plains Community League operates the John Paige Turner Community Center in the heart of The Plains.  Located on Main Street the Community House provides a central place for community activities and events.  Follow the Community League on facebook.  Become a volunteer, help tutor or just join in to to help.  Everyone is welcome.  Click here: The Plains Community League
